The occurrence of transient 131/151 codes is not unusual on bikes with IED's installed.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL NEVER COME ON.
This is a historic code only and is not harmful
You will not know you have these codes unless you check for Historic Codes in the ECM, you will not see these codes.
The HD Service Manual indicates that you can clear and ignore historic 131/151 codes. Nightrider can provide a full technical explaination why the 131/151 errors occur. Because of the way the IED technology works, there is a short period of time during cold/cool start where the ECM can sense a 'low voltage' from the O2 sensors. This is the situation that triggers the historic codes to be recorded the ECM, but never triggers the CE light. We provide this information as a service to our customers and in full disclosure of how our products interact with the OEM H-D ECM.
